How Alkaline Water Affects Urine

Testing the Water

Day to day, we don’t talk about it much, but urine is a fantastic barometer of your overall health. Having a urine sample checked can warn you of possible internal disease, even when symptoms don’t manifest.

A simple urine test can detect problems with your liver, urinary diseases, and can be an indicator of diabetes. And urine can be either acidic or alkaline, in the same way as other bodily fluids.

Urination is how your body tries to rid itself of excess acids from the food you eat and the liquids you drink.

When to Call the Doc

A urine test can tell you quite a bit about your overall health.

Even without a testing kit or a medical professional to hand, a quick glance at your own urine can tell you if you’re dehydrated or your kidneys might not be functioning properly. You excrete small amounts of dark yellow urine.

If your urine looks cloudy, then you might be suffering from a urinary tract infection. If you see traces of red, then blood might be present.

In all of these cases, you should make an appointment to seek medical advice.

Not all colors in your urine are something to worry about, though. Certain substances in the food you eat and drink also affects your urine color.

Beets, berries, and other such food with strong colorings may change the color of your urine. Certain medications may also do that.

If the color remains unchanged for a few days, undergo urine testing just to rule out bacteria or blood in your urine specimen.

When Pale Means Healthy

Based on the urine color chart, healthy urine is usually a pale yellow color and should not have an unpleasant smell. It should also have a pH of around 4 – 8 pH.

Levels will rise and fall during the course of the day. Urine tested in the morning tends to be more acidic.

Someone with no health issues internally will have normal urine pH. It’s another story for acidic urine.

It can range from urinary tract infection to the most complicated internal sickness.

Low urine pH can indicate metabolic syndrome, which manifests as various symptoms including:

  • Kidney stones
  • High cholesterol
  • Unstable and high blood sugar
  • Unstable and high blood pressure
  • Weight problems

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Definition: While most infections affect the bladder and the urethra, UTIs may actually involve the kidney, bladder, and any part of the urinary system. It mostly affects women.

Switch to alkaline water to help improve the pH of your urine.

Drinking alkaline water will help to increase the pH of your urine. Eating more vegetables will also increase its alkalinity.

Alkaline water will hydrate you better and more efficiently than ordinary water. You can get it through a water ionizer which filters tap water without stripping it of essential minerals.

Infection-causing bacteria thrive in an acidic environment, so it’s important to balance your body’s pH to keep diseases away.

Drinking freshly ionized water is the fastest and easiest way of rebalancing your body and restoring a sense of health and well being.
